World Economic Forum on the creation of innovative societies
Learn more about how Dearest is changing the future of education
Dearest families,
I’m in China this week and attending the summer’s World Economic Forum, Davos 2018. This summer’s focus is on shaping innovative societies, the complexity and scale of transformations taking place in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the kinds of new tools and strategies that will be required for unlocking innovation while mitigating unintended consequences.
I’m honored to share that Dearest, and other incredible startups, have been invited to join world leaders at this year’s World Economic Forum as we explore the dynamic, imperative and perhaps dangerous ways companies accelerate global progress. It’s been an eye opening experience that has allowed me to think beyond what we are building today at Dearest.
World Economic Forum on the creation of innovative societies
As businesses consider their pivotal roles in creating and fostering inclusive and equitable economies that provide opportunity for everyone to fulfil their potential, individuals too must grapple with this work.
“The twin forces of globalization and technology are transforming our economies, workplaces, communities and families. In advanced and emerging economies, decelerating growth, job disruption, rising inequality and a broken social contract are creating unrest and instability. Yet there has never been a better time to mobilize technology and to unleash the human capability to address these challenges and shape a new socio-economic system that provides opportunity for all.” World Economic Forum, 2018
This spoke to me deeply. Dearest was born from hundreds of hours speaking with families and educators, which allowed me to deepen my understanding of complex issues, shape a new model and standard for early care and education, one focused on driving scalable, collaborative action for systemic change.

Dearest is a mission-led, female-founded startup that matches families with experienced educators and certified teachers for private and group sessions, both online and in-person. It is the only platform that focuses on connecting top teaching talent with young learners between the ages of 4-12.
Dearest educators are responsible for planning developmentally appropriate lessons with specific learning goals, adapting engaging and hands-on activities to best meet the needs of the child or group, and recommending additional activities to extend the experience. At the conclusion of each session, our educators send parents a progress report, detailing the content covered and skills mastered!
These educators are what sets us apart from other early childhood education and childcare companies out there. Our team has been obsessed with finding the top teaching talent in early childhood education since Dearest was born in 2017. Thousands of bookings, hundreds of parent reviews, and countless in-person educator interviews have helped our team to build a systematized and data-driven vetting process that identifies top teaching talent and retains those educators to ensure that your family has a consistently positive experience with our team!
